We are very excited to share our 2024 advertising campaign “Falling Into Wonderlight” as seen in the Jan / Dec issue of Elle Décor magazine- out now!
Those of you who have followed our journey for a while will know exactly how much this milestone means. I love that so many of you sent photos and messages of excitement after spotting our advert. Thank you!
We thought we would share the backstory to this campaign below…but first…
WONDERFUL TESTIMONIALS!
We have a new testimonials page on our website which is filling up with the most beautiful comments from our brilliant clients and we feel very proud to share them. Below are a few of our favourite snippets but you can read all the testimonials we have uploaded so far and see the projects they refer to here.
“We have worked with Lumiere since their conception on a number of our development projects (…) We will continue to work with them going forwards & would highly recommend their services and products.” Owners of Beau Property
“It remains true that each and every time I look at each and every one of the lights that Melissa suggested for us, it sparks happiness.”
“Their willingness to encourage some out of the box thinking has resulted in a lighting scheme beyond my wildest dreams” Greg Penn @manwithahamme
“I can’t imagine going anywhere else for lighting.”
“After the Lumiere experience I would certainly make a lighting upgrade/ redesign a priority in any new home- it is transformative- and I wish I had more rooms!”
“The consultation was easy and fun. Melissa was very easy to work with and she quickly understood what we were after and how our home could be improved with the right lighting. The whole process was a joy and she was available for support during the installation.”
Thank you.
We have been very touched by your kind comments, and I am so proud to display them on our site.
We look forward to uploading more of your testimonials in due course. Please keep them coming!
Now back to the photoshoot for our Elle Décor campaign…
The whole team had a blast during this very special experience of creating a photo which fuses beautiful lights with creativity, showcases our ability to create magic with lighting in any given space, to go above and beyond expectations and to have fun in the process, all while not forgetting to look up and notice an alchemy in the everyday.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the very organic creative process of capturing a photo which we feel defines “ the essence of lumière”.
Can we tell you a little story?...
Once upon a time….
I thought I would share the backstory of the campaign “Falling into Wonderlight” with you here:
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, Prince Eric found a sheltered cove and dropped anchor for the night. It was a hand finished anchor made of unlacquered brass. The Little Mermaid had never seen anything so beautiful in her whole life. “What is it?”, she asked the seagull who knew everything there was to know about the human world. The Little Mermaid would often find human “treasures” at the bottom of the ocean and she would take them to the seagull so he could tell her about them. In fact, just the other day he had cleverly demonstrated how humans used forks to comb their hair. The seagull looked at the anchor. “It’s a chandelier!”, he replied. “ Humans dance around them when they are in love. That is where the expression love and light comes from. You should try it”, the seagull suggested. “ A famous human called Amanda Gorman once said: There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.”
And so, the Little Mermaid took a deep breath, dived down to the anchor and danced in its light at sunset and all night until the sun came up…”

Carla and Stef joined me on the West Sussex coast for our Christmas meal at Soho House in Brighton. It was a lovely gentle re-integration into civilisation for me after being in the depths of the Himalayas in India for a while.
I’ve really enjoyed seeing some of our clients moving into their completed projects for Christmas- we cannot wait to share photos and videos next year once everyone is settled. We have also just visited a couple of beautiful new house projects and will be starting work on the lighting from January.
We have so many exciting plans for lumière next year and we cannot wait to help more clients find their forever lights in 2024 and beyond.

We were thrilled to see our lumière shop mascot “Legs” reach her new home with Instagram upcycle queen Zoe at Muck n Brass.
All’s well that ends well.
Sending wishes of peace love and light for Christmas 2023, the new year 2024 and beyond!
